You can generate HTML pages, based on the current file list and preference settings(HTML Contact Sheet panel). There are two options to choose: HTML Pages Grouped and HTML Pages With Images.
HTML Pages Grouped
HTML "contact sheet" pages are created. You specify the name of the first index page, which serves as a "base location". Previews and HTML pages are generated based on the location of this file. A folder called "Previews" is created and--if create previews option is on--they are placed in this folder. A folder called "Images" is created and--if the image is not currently located within the folder--it is copied to this folder.
You can quickly create contact sheet pages and image pages, conveniently located together. All generated links are relative, so the generated files can be uploaded to a server location for use on the internet. It is suggested, that you create a new folder(e.g. "My HTML Pages"), and save the base index file(i.e. contact sheet page) within this folder. In this way, the "Previews" and "Images" folders, along with generated HTML pages, will be placed in the folder "My HTML Pages".
If you regenerate the pages, old pages will automatically be replaced by newer pages. Image files are automatically copied from their original location to the "Images" folder, so you can generate the pages from a multiple folder list.
HTML Pages With Images
HTML "contact sheet" pages are created. They are automatically placed at the same location(folder) as the image in the file list. Note: if you use this option with a list of nested folders, the level should only be one deep or the links will be wrong.
You can quickly create contact sheet pages and image pages, tied to the location of the images. In this way, each folder will contain html pages appropriate for that folder. You could then create a master page(i.e by hand) that references the various base index pages. Folders could then be copied to a CDROM or uploaded to a server, with html pages included for viewing.
**Warning: The links between image and index pages, require the file list to be ordered by folder. If the preference setting File/Sort File Lists is on, the list will be alphabetical, which may cause the links to be incorrect. Also, if folders are nested more than 1 deep, links can be incorrect. This warning only applies to file lists that contain multiple folders.**
HTML Page Contents
What is generated in the pages, is largely determined by preference settings(see file Preferences). However, common to all pages, are necessary html tags to form a valid page. Further, previous/next links, between index pages and image pages are generated automatically. A number of comments are placed in the pages, so you can customize them by using find/replace with your favorite text editor. Also, in the event a file cannot be read or preview created, the page/image link is still created. In this way, you can identify "problem" files, as they will not display in the index pages.
